SAFE TRANSPORTATION OF ELECTRONICS & HOME APPLIANCES
Electronic and home appliance cargo includes products such as mobile phones, laptops, televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, as well as electronic components and equipment. These goods are highly sensitive, prone to damage or breakage during transportation when exposed to external impact or moisture. Therefore, proper packaging plays a critical role in ensuring that products are delivered safely and intact. Let’s explore the correct packaging standards for electronic and home appliance cargo with Nhat Long Logistics in the article below.

Brand-new products
Brand-new goods are products that remain in their original manufacturer packaging. Although manufacturers design packaging suitable for long-distance transportation, additional reinforcement is still recommended to minimize the risk of impact damage.
To enhance safety, cartons should be further secured with adhesive tape around all surfaces and edges, and reinforced using heavy-duty strapping where necessary. For small-sized items such as mobile phones or electronic chips, cushioning materials like soft fillers, foam, or sponge should be used to fully surround the cargo—wooden crating is even recommended for higher protection.
For bulky cargo or items weighing over 30 kg, wooden crating is mandatory. Fully enclosed wooden cases provide the highest level of safety during transit.
Note: For electronic goods, all accompanying documents and invoices must be packed inside the cargo carton.
Used products
For used electronic components that no longer retain their original packaging, the following standard packaging procedures should be strictly followed:
- Use waterproof, sealed nylon materials to wrap the cargo, as electronics are extremely sensitive to moisture.
- Apply cushioning materials such as foam, sponge, or bubble wrap to secure the cargo, filling all voids inside the carton to prevent internal movement.
- Place the goods in appropriate containers such as reinforced cartons, foam boxes, or wooden frames. This protective layer helps minimize the risk of impact damage, scratches, or breakage caused by external forces.
- Similar to brand-new products, original invoices and accompanying documents must be placed inside the packaging.
